ZAP Middle

ZAP--Zero in on Attitude and Performance--is an important elective class for middle school students as they prepare for rigorous course work and college reading and writing tasks.

On this page, we connect our ZAP Coaches to guides and teaching practices that help them create a student-centered, skill-based classroom. ZAP Coaches can find curriculum units for teaching College and Career Readiness state standards, lessons and activities for character development, and team building exercises. Together, we can move all students forward.

ZAP Classes

The purpose of the ZAP class is to accelerate students' reading, speaking, and writing skills, improve their study habits, strengthen their critical thinking and problem solving skills, and build confident students with outstanding character.

Literacy Standards In Action

We've mapped our literacy lessons and reading, speaking, and writing skills to state standards, Common Core, and NGSS. The standards are "the what" to teach. Our lessons are "the how" to meet the expectations defined by the standards. Click on the links below to view our quick reference table that maps standards to literacy lessons.
