I Know/You Know

The "I Know/You Know" activity is a low risk, highly structured "Pair-Share" strategy that can be used to engage students' prior knowledge, or it can be used to review course concepts at the beginning of a class or before an exam. This interactive strategy takes only five minutes. Students learn and have fun at the same time. To make this more competitive, change the name to "30 Sec. Expert." When you make it about expertise, students want to know more than their partner.

Literacy Standards In Action

We've mapped our literacy lessons and reading, speaking, and writing skills to state standards, Common Core, and NGSS. The standards are "the what" to teach. Our lessons are "the how" to meet the expectations defined by the standards. Click on the links below to view our quick reference table that maps standards to literacy lessons.

SL1

SL6

L1
Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking.
L6
