Writing Prompt

In a small group, summarize Jane Black's main ideas in her New York Times article, "New Fast Food Chains Can Improve Business as Usual." Using the graphic organizer provided, describe the key evidence (or details) Black uses to inform her readers. Discuss Black's purpose for writing the text and identify the intended audience. Be ready to share your ideas with the rest of the class.  
 
Next, pick three comments below the article to read and ponder. Pick one to discuss. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the comment you read? Work with a small group to identify evidence from your life, the life of others, or from texts you have read to support your position. Be ready to present your argument and key evidence to the class.
