Teachers have mixed feelings about teaching vocabulary. Some love it. Others not so much. One thing all teachers have in common when talking about vocabulary is a need for good approaches to teaching new words to students. Whether you are using in-text vocabulary or words from a list, the following vocabulary process will surely add interest and energy to the teaching of new words.
I am always amazed by the work teachers do. They have terrific ideas, they create magical experiences for their students, and they fight for each student to make sure he or she is more successful than ever imagined. I am truly humbled to be a part of this honorable profession. At LiteracyTA, we believe that teachers make the greatest difference in students' lives. Teachers matter!
In 2014, EdTech Digest recognized the work we were doing at LiteracyTA and awarded us with the EdTech Digest Leadership Award. Lee and I were honored to receive this recognition.
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a fantastic winter break. Some of us are returning to school this week and others (like my father) have another week off. Regardless of where your break falls, it is 2017. And every new year brings new opportunities, a fresh start, and new (or renewed) commitments. As always, LiteracyTA remains committed to improving everyday.
We are hosting a FREE LTA U Colloquium (seminar) this summer at at San Diego State University. The one day event is open to all EL teachers grades 6-12, administrators, and postsecondary educators.
